MLB steps up to the plate to embrace China's new generation


Major League Baseball is a North American professional sports league with a century-old history and more than 200 million dedicated fans in the United States, Canada and Latin America.
Douyin has become one of the most popular short video platforms in China within three short years of its launch in September 2016, with a DAU exceeding 250 million and its main users being the post-'90s generation and millennials. The number of Douyin users obtained in three years is equal to the entire "old school" user group of the 100-year-old North American league.
With the summer break approaching, MLB and Viho have teamed up to successfully "connect" with Chinese youth, signaling a powerful message that the league is actively stepping out of its comfort zone by embracing the new wave of young Chinese fans.
