Guang'an gets Sichuan Provincial Games up and running

The 15th Sichuan Provincial Games kicked off on Friday evening at the Guang'an Olympic Sports Center Stadium.
A record 33,000 athletes will compete in two major categories — youth sports and mass sports — at what is the province's largest sporting event. The youth sports program includes 36 disciplines and 727 events, while the mass sports program comprises 20 disciplines and 212 events.
For the first time in the province's history, the games are being hosted by three cities — Yibin, Neijiang and Guang'an. It is also the first time that Chongqing's Beibei district has been invited to take part in events.
