Organizers said the tri-city collaboration embodies the spirit of openness and inclusiveness while highlighting regional integrated development.
At the opening ceremony, nine torchbearers from the three host cities relayed the flame to light the main cauldron, whose design draws inspiration from the sun motif on bronze artifacts excavated at the Sanxingdui site in Guanghan, Sichuan.
The opening ceremony also featured digital shows, encompassing naked-eye 3D and augmented reality, themed on Sichuan's traditional culture and sports development.
