Socialist academies urged to consolidate common belief

BEIJING - China's top political advisor Wang Yang on Thursday called on socialist academies to focus on consolidating the common belief and political foundation.

It should be highlighted as the fundamental goal of all their work and implemented throughout the whole process of teaching and research, said Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee

Wang, also chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, made the remarks while meeting delegates attending the third national conference on the work of socialist academies.

Institutes of socialism were asked to improve their work by studying the new practice of united front work and the new characteristics of prominent non-CPC individuals.

In addition, Wang also called for efforts to enhance their theoretical research and building of think tanks to provide theoretical and intellectual support for the united front work in the new era.

You Quan, a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, made a speech at the first plenary meeting of the conference.

You stressed full implementation of the CPC Central Committee's new guidelines and requirements on the cultivation of united front talents and the work of socialist academies.
