Do not leave children locked in school buses: education authorities warn
BEIJING -- China's education authorities on Tuesday sent a warning to schools, bus operators and parents: do not leave any child locked in a school bus.
It came after a three-year-old in Central Hubei province died after being forgotten and left alone in a school bus. Police are investigating the case.
Education authorities demanded bus operators take responsibility and do head-counts to make sure no one was left on board school buses. Drivers were advised to park cars in the shade if possible and take measures to ensure good ventilation and a comfortable temperature when driving.
In addition, school bus drivers and on board carer were required to watch educational videos, as well as take drills and training to raise summer driving safety awareness.
