BEIJING - More than 30 million families with military personnel had been issued plaques of honor by the end of April, according to the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.
Offering honor plaques to families of martyrs or with members in the military has been a traditional practice of the Communist Party of China and the government.
The General Office of the State Council released a guideline in 2018 on issuing honor plaques, expanding the glory to include all families of martyrs, active military personnel and veterans.
More efforts should be taken to maintain the practice of offering honor plaques and carry forward the respect for martyrs, veterans and those in active service throughout society, according to the ministry.
