Beijing Guoan conquer Buriram United 2-0 in AFC Champions League

BEIJING - Beijing Guoan claimed the second consecutive victory in the AFC Champions League here on Wednesday as Brazilian Renato Augusto scored one and set up another, helping the Chinese Super League side enjoy a 2-0 victory over Buriram United of Thailand.
The win, coupled with the Urawa Reds 2-1 defeat against Jeonbuk Motors, send Guoan to the second place of Group G with seven points, two behind Jeonbuk Motors.
Guoan rested Jonathan Viera with Augusto pulling the string in the midfield, and Zhang Yuning partnered with Cedric Bakambu on the forward line.

Guoan were dealt a blow as Zhang limped off with an injury and was replaced by Ba Dun.
Yu Dabao's twisting header in a corner attack in the 30th minute was blocked by teammate Bakambu, two minutes before Yu's another header was denied by goalkeeper Tedsungnoen Siwarak.
Bakambu sprung the offside trap in the 39th minute but his low strike was parried by Siwarak again.

Guoan broke the deadlock 10 minutes after the break as the hosts were awarded a penalty, Augusto kept his cool to convert it, sending Siwarak down wrong-footed.
Guoan made it two as Augusto floated in a cross from left, and Ba steered his header into the net to seal the win.
