Curry, Thompson lead Warriors to beat Pistons 121-114
WASHINGTON -- Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson combined for 50 points as Warriors overcame Pistons 121-114 on Sunday night.
Warriors suffered a blowout loss as Curry rested on the bench before he came back strong against the Pistons. The Star-caliber scored 8 points in a row to help Warriors outscored 29-28 in the first quarter.
Thompson found his hot hands while Warriors extended the one-point lead to 14 before the halftime break.
Golden State got going after that, using a couple of 3-pointers to unleash a torrid offensive display in the third.
Pistons started the fourth quarter strong, with Kennard hit back-to-back layups to cut the deficit. However, Curry's 3-pointer from beyond the arc later helped Warriors past Pistons.
Curry's game-high 26 points led five Warriors players in double figures. Blake Griffin collected 24 points for Detroit.
