Woman attacks children in school, 14 injured
Around 14 children suffered injuries when a woman attacked them with a kitchen knife at around 9:30 am at the gate of a kindergarten in Banan district, southwest China's Chongqing on October 26.
Led by the school teachers, all the children were on the way back to the classrooms after the morning exercise outside of the kindergarten gate. Liu suddenly rushed into them and attacked them with a knife, injuring 14 students. The school security and staff members managed to overpower the woman.
Local police immediately arrived at the scene and rushed the injured children to hospital. Chongqing police chief Deng Huilin also went to the school immediately and ordered an investigation.
Founded in 1998, the school called Banan New Century Kindergarten is a private school for general public, according to Banan district education commission. It hosts six classes with 180 students. Now it has 175 students on campus with 17 teachers and staff as well as two security guards.
