As the first Le Meridien hotel in Hangzhou, Le Méridien Hangzhou, Binjiang brings the brand's promise of "Destination Unlocked" to creative-minded travelers in the Binjiang Hub of Hangzhou

Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts, part of Marriott International Inc, today announced the opening of Le Méridien Hangzhou, Binjiang, in the Binjiang Hub of Hangzhou. The hotel is the first Le Méridien hotel and the 16th Marriott International property in the city of Hangzhou. Through the distinctive Le Méridien 'Destination Unlocked' promise, Le Méridien Hangzhou, Binjiang is set to bring its take on the golden age of glamorous travel to the city.

"As the first Le Méridien in Hangzhou, this hotel is illustrative of the brand's demand in China, hitting its stride with guests and locals, as well as owners and developers in the region," said Brian Povinelli, global brand leader, Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts. "We are thrilled to introduce Le Méridien Hangzhou, Binjiang and look forward to celebrating the brand's mentality of savoring the good life in this historical city."

The hotel boasts the design concept of "largest canvas" to reflect the classic Jiangnan garden framed by contemporary design and to emphasize the delicate balance between humanity, art and nature, and to delight in the endless inspiration of Hangzhou artistic conception. Le Méridien Hangzhou, Binjiang features 199 guestrooms and suites with views of the iconic Qiantang River. All guestrooms feature high-speed Wi-Fi access and a 55-inch flat-panel TV, with a separate and inviting deep-soaking tub and rainforest shower. Awaken from the hotel's signature Le Méridien bed with its crisp linens to feel energized for the stimulating delights of the day ahead. The hotel, inspired by the brand's European heritage and mid-century modern design with an honesty of materiality allows guests to immerse themselves in a unique sensory environment from the moment they arrive at Le Méridien Hub. Music by the Bossa Nova-inspired Parisian band Nouvelle Vague creates a pleasant and elegant auditory backdrop for guests. The hotel also created a "World Gallery" that is highly compatible with the concept of indoor space. Paintings of West Lake by famous artistes are proudly showcased and hang above the lobby to inspire the traveler to explore the surrounding area and culture. At Le Méridien Hub, the irresistible aroma of fresh coffee beans tempts all who pass by. It's an invitation to pause for an exceptional cup of illy brand coffee, expertly brewed by the master barista during the day, or accompanied by the signature fusion of éclairs made in classic French style with the featured flavor of Hangzhou longjing tea, a unique taste sensation that will help guests discover the feel of the local area. When the night comes, socializing over a glass of sparkling wine stimulates the creative and curious mind.

To expand the Le Méridien & X+Q Art partnership, the Le Méridien Hub™ also will feature Ai Mei • Midsummer artwork, connecting hotel guests with the opportunity to discover destination culture through the lens of art. The artwork is inspired by West Lake Longjing, which is famous for the mountainside plantations surrounding the areas around Longjing Village by West Lake, Hangzhou. This exquisite tone-on-tone patchwork pattern, with its shades of emerald and forest green, conjures up the delicate freshness of classic Longjing tea leaves.

For gastronomic delights, Le Méridien Hangzhou, Binjiang offers three culinary venues that cater to diners' taste buds with a carefully crafted dining environment and specialties. Travelers can enjoy a variety of local, Asian and international signatures in Latest Recipe, a buffet-style, all day dining venue. Le Mei, the Chinese restaurant specializing in Cantonese cuisine, connects guests to local flavors. At the signature hotel lobby lounge Latitude 30, guests will embark on a journey through art, music and signature food and beverages. By night, guests and locals can converse at the hub with Le Méridien sparkling wine, which is inspired by Europe's evening aperitif hour.

Taking inspiration from Le Méridien's Creative Meetings program, the hotel offers over 1,300 square meters of versatile meeting and function space, including the 750 square meters of the Le Méridien Ballroom, with state-of-the-art technology. Guests will expand imagination and creativity for the most transformative conference, wedding or business gathering through the brand's Creative Meetings program, creating an immersive atmosphere for any meeting purpose that brings them to the destination at Le Méridien Hangzhou, Binjiang. The hotel also features a well-equipped fitness center with indoor swimming pool.
