Beijing home to top salaries in China
Beijing, with an average monthly salary of 10,500 yuan ($1,587), ranks first among 37 major cities across the country offering jobs at annual summer job fairs this year, reports the Economic View.
Shanghai and Shenzhen rank 2nd and 3rd with 9,796 and 9,309 yuan respectively. The average salaries of the 37 major cities involved in job fairs reached 7,832 yuan, up 6.2% year-on-year.
In terms of industries, fund and stock management is the most lucrative, with prospective employees likely to take home a monthly salary of 10,590 yuan.
Senior managers are likely to take home the most money among varied positions, with average employees likely to earn 20,088 yuan per month.
On average, 38 applicants at summer job fairs are competing for one job position.
In Beijing, that number increases dramatically to 1-in-90 only likely to find work.
