4.9-magnitude quake hits Taiwan's Hualien: CENC

BEIJING -- A 4.9-magnitude earthquake jolted waters near Hualien County of Taiwan at 8:54 am Thursday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter was monitored at 23.94 degrees north latitude and 121.62 degrees east longitude, the center said in a statement. The quake struck at a depth of 8 km.
