State Council appoints, removes officials

BEIJING - The State Council, China's cabinet, announced the appointment and removal of several senior officials Wednesday.

Sun Qixin was removed from the post of president of Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University, and was appointed president of the China Agricultural University.

Ke Bingsheng is no longer president of the China Agricultural University.

Fan Liming was named the president of Shandong University, replacing Zhang Rong.

Zhang Rong will replace Zhu Chongshi as the president of Xiamen University.

Liu Zhenmin will no longer serve as vice minister of foreign affairs.
