Panda celebrates 2nd birthday, beats disease

Meng Lan, a female panda at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in Southwest China's Sichuan province, celebrated her second birthday on July 4 by sharing an ice cake with other pandas. In May, she underwent an operation after suffering from a bone infection in her lower jaw. [Photo provided to China Daily]
