SEOUL - The South Korean Army will distribute personal combat gear attached with bio and environmental sensors to soldiers by 2025, local media reported Tuesday.

With the improved combat gear, soldiers will be able to be on surveillance regardless of day or night and to exchange real-time information with their command post through a voice transmitter on the helmet.

A high-tech and new material will be applied to body armor to prevent small-caliber bullets from going through.

Combat uniforms will be equipped with sensors that can read body signals to automatically adjust humidity levels and discharge perspiration.

The improvement of combat gear will be carried out in three stages by 2025.
