MANILA - A cargo plane crashed in Pampanga province of northern Philippines last night killing three of its six crew, aviation authority said Thursday.

The Russian-made aircraft crashed in San Patricio in Pampanga at about 8:50 p.m. Wednesday night, said Alfonso Cusi, director general of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

The aircraft took off from the Mactan/Cebu International Airport and was bound for the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport when the incident happened.

According to the CAAP, the aircraft had three Russian, two Uzbekistan and a Bulgarian national. Three of the six crew members reportedly perished while the three others sustained injuries.
