BRATISLAVA - A locomotive ran into a passenger train in east Slovakia's Spisska Nova Ves town Thursday, killing three and injuring 15.
The accident took place inside the town's railway station when the locomotive's brake system failed and it ran into the passenger train, which was stopped at the station.
Six workers were doing repairs on the locomotive when the crash occurred. Three of them died and one remained in serious condition.
Helicopters were sent to the site and all the injured were quickly freed from the wreck.
Officials said the accident would not affect the rail services.
