FMs of Mediterranean EU states to meet in Cyprus(Xinhua)
Updated: 2008-01-15 20:19 NICOSIA -- Foreign ministers from Mediterranean EU member states will gather in Cyprus Thursday and Friday to discuss regional and international issues. The foreign ministers are to discuss issues like the Middle East peace process, migration, natural disaster response mechanisms, Kosovo and the establishment of a Mediterranean Union. According to a press release issued by the Cypriot Foreign Ministry, foreign ministers and senior officials from Slovenia, Greece, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Malta, Bulgaria, Romania, France and Cyprus will participate in the fifth informal meeting in the southwestern city of Paphos. The informal meeting is convened twice a year, at the beginning of each EU presidency, to coordinate and strengthen cooperation among Mediterranean EU member states. |
