SKorea, DPRK to hold general-level military talks

Seoul -- South Korea and the Democratic People' s Republic of Korea (DPRK) will hold general-level military talks on Dec. 12-14, the South Korean Defense Ministry said on Monday.

"South Korea and the North (DPRK) agreed to hold the 7th round of general-level military talks from Dec. 12-14 at the House of Peace on the southern side of Panmunjom," the ministry said in a press release.

It said the two sides will discuss how to support inter-Korean economic cooperation projects, including ways of facilitating passage, communications, and customs into the Kaesong industrial complex, during the talks.

They will also talk about the disputed maritime border of the Northern Limit Line (NLL) in the Yellow Sea, local media said.

According to the ministry, Army Maj. Gen. Lee Hong-kee will lead the South's five-member delegation to the talks. The DPRK delegation will be led by two-star Army general Kim Yong-chul.
