Yunhai Resort

The setting for the contemporary Yunhai Resort was once, more than 900 years ago, a Buddhist temple. Today, a well-equipped recreation centre has emerged from this one-time sacred site.

Located at No.5 at Yunhai St., to the south of the Zhouzhuang Bridge, the Yunhai Resort opened in 1996. Following its refurbishment in 1999, the resort now has 135 guest rooms and seven meeting rooms, together with restaurants, tennis courts, bowling alleys, motorboats, swimming pools, sauna centers and a number of other recreational facilities.

Delegates to the 1999 Fortune Global Forum in Shanghai, the 2001 APEC meeting, and the 28th World Heritage Conference were all housed in the resort. The resort has also enjoyed visits from a number of high-profile international figures, including Jimmy Carter, the former U.S. president, Henry Kissinger, the former U.S. Secretary of State and Mr. Lee Hsien Loong, the prime minister of Singapore.
