Gongwangfu Palace Branch of Sichuan Restaurant

The Gongwangfu Palace Branch of Sichuan Restaurant was established in May 1996 and is located at the rear garden of the Gongwangfu Palace, which was once the official residence of Heshen, the Grand Secretary to Emperor Qianlong. In 1851, Emperor Xianfeng granted the palace to Prince Gong (Yixin) hence the name Gongwangfu Palace. The Palace is hailed as the best of all royal architectures owing to its successful incorporation of the northern architectural style into the garden art of Jiangnan (referring to regions south of the Yangtze River). Featuring Sichuan cuisines as its principle specialty, the Branch also offers "Red Chamber" dishes, named after the famous Chinese literary classic Dream of the Red Chamber. With eight ancient style dinning halls of different sizes, the Branch is capable of catering for up to 300 guests. In addition, banquets, wine parties and buffet receptions of various sizes can be held at scenic sites inside the Palace Garden, such as the Huxin Pavilion, the Yaoyue Stage, the Anshan Hall, the Grand Theatre Tower and the Yizhi Building, etc. Apart from exquisite dishes and great value services, guests will benefit at this oriental palace with a genuine taste of the unique Chinese culture.
