Traditional Li brocade in China's Hainan Province

A worker weaves the Li brocade in the Baoting Li and Miao autonomous county of south China's Hainan Province, Jan. 16, 2008. Invented in the Yin and Zhou Period (1600 B.C.-- 221 B.C.) by the Li people, a minority nationality in Hainan province, Li brocade keeps rich cultural value in the Chinese history. In recent years, The Baoting Li and Miao autonomous county of Hainan province has greatly promoted the development of the brocade by improving the technics, patterns and specialized software to maintain its tradition as well as to improve its quality. With the use of advanced technics, Li brocade will keep charm in the modern time.
