Free use of bikesat pentahotels in Shanghai and Beijing

chinadaily.com.cn | Updated: 2012-10-10 16:21

Neighbourhood lifestyle pentahotels in Shanghai and Beijing bring the “hood” even closer to hotel guests with the free use of pentafun bikes. Part of the signature pentafun programme, the red bikes come with a specially designed map identifying both popular and little-known attractions nearby, all to give riders a more intimate experience of the surrounding area. Pentafun bikes are available to room guests only on a first-come, first-served basis.

Bikes are tough to be beat in terms of urban transportation especially in Shanghai and Beijing, where longdang or hutongs (ancient alleyways of traditional courtyard residences) are often accessible only on foot. Bikes also provide the perfect alternative in congested traffic, making it extra convenient to visit renowned landmarks like Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City in Beijing or hidden gems like Yang’s Fried Dumplings in Shanghai. Bikes are reliable, emission-free, take up very little parking space, and make navigating the narrow alleyways a breeze.

The snazzy bikes are yet another touch to pentahotels’ distinct brand of friendly hospitality with high efficiency and comfort.
