Singing-sand dunes moving to crescent spring in Gansu

Photo taken on July 25, 2011 shows the rich oasis scenery zone of Yueya Spring (Crescent Spring) and the adjacent Mingsha Mountain Dunes (Singing-Sand Dunes) coexisting in Dunhuang City, northwest China's Gansu Province. The famous tourist attraction Mingsha Mountain Dunes, which is six kilometers south of Dunhuang City, has moved towards Yueya Spring for about 8 to 10 meters in the past 15 years due to the geological movement, according to the latest statistics. Compared with the location in 1970s, the sand dunes movement of up to 60 meters made Yueya Spring under threat of dwindling.[Photo/Xinhua]
