Countdown to Centro's Going Away Party

After seven years of non-stop 24 hours daily operations, the year 2011 will mark a special occasion in Centro’s history. An award-wining bar and lounge at Shangri-La’s Kerry Centre Hotel, Beijing, Centro will close for renovation from 12 June 2011, with a re-opening scheduled for end August 2011.

To commemorate this milestone, a three-day event will be organised from 9 to 11 June 2011 with the build-up to “Centro’s Going Away Party” on the evening of 11 June 2011. To add to the vacation theme, Centro’s staff will be decked out in sailor suits, while caricature artists and in-house jazz band, Tabitha King entertains.

The night of 11 June 2011 will showcase electronic spins from a popular guest DJ from Singapore. Guests who love creative cocktails can participate in the “My Cocktail, I Decide” auction, for the exclusive naming rights of five specially designed cocktails, which will feature in the new beverage menu of Centro after it re-opens. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Children’s Hope Family, one of the hotels’ championed charity organisations, under the Shangri-La Group’s Embrace; Care for People Programme. The party atmosphere will continue into the wee hours of the morning.
