Shenzhen held the launch conference for the "Shenzhen Venture Capital Day" on Nov 8.

Shenzhen Venture Capital Day will enter various districts and major strategic platforms on the 8th of each month and hold project-docking activities in accordance with the industrial characteristics and development strategies of each district.

Shenzhen Venture Capital Day will have three focuses, namely "connection between innovative technology and innovative enterprises", "connection between innovative companies and venture capital", and "connection between venture capital and government guidance funds".

A scientific and technological achievement and intellectual property trading center was officially unveiled at the conference. The trading center is positioned to explore and improve the market-based pricing and transaction mechanism of intellectual property and aims to establish a national comprehensive service platform connecting the technology market and the capital market and provide a single stop for the sharing and application of scientific and technological achievements.

After more than 20 years of development, Shenzhen has become one of three major venture capital cities in the Chinese mainland alongside Beijing and Shanghai.

In 2022, the Shenzhen government proposed integrating into the global innovation network, building an international venture capital center, creating a national science and technology financial reform and innovation pilot zone, and introducing more policies to support the development of venture capital.

According to official statistics, as of the end of September the number of registered private equity fund managers in Shenzhen was 4,017, the number of funds under management was 21,356, and the scale of funds under management was 2.31 trillion yuan ($318.6 billion).
