Wuhou district in Chengdu, capital of Southwest China's Sichuan province, saw the signing of 24 agreements for major projects with a combined investment of 19.2 billion yuan ($2.86 billion) at an investment promotion conference and major project signing ceremony on June 16.
The projects involve industries such as new materials, intelligent manufacturing, medical equipment, eco-friendliness and sustainability, and cultural creativity.
The Wuhou district government signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Mobile Communications Group Sichuan Co Ltd at the conference.
China Mobile Communications Group Sichuan Co Ltd will promote the in-depth integration development of "5G + industry" in Wuhou district, helping the district develop into a digital economy demonstration district with distinctive features and strong competitiveness, according to the agreement.
The district also released a list of 23 land resources with a total area of 80.67 hectares to help enterprises seize upon the latest investment opportunities.
Wuhou district has been striving to optimize its industrial ecosystem and strengthen key industrial chains since the beginning of this year to better serve the development of enterprises, said local officials.
The district has formed several industrial clusters that generate revenues of tens of billions yuan, such as cultural creativity, big health, and financial e-commerce, creating a good investment environment for enterprises.
He Xinyu, co-founder of Investment Cloud Map, said the high-quality development of an innovation-driven and vibrant urban area in Wuhou offers vast development possibilities, making the district a global investment hot spot.
