Shenzhen: An example of protecting biodiversity

From mangroves to wetland parks, rare animals to plants, Shenzhen in South China's Guangdong province is a shining example of how to protect biodiversity and the environment.

It has 109 plants and animals listed as a national priority. The city has put urban biodiversity high on its agenda in a bid to balance ecological protection and economic growth.
