Youxian district to boost high-quality development with advanced manufacturing

Youxian district in the city of Mianyang in Sichuan province has made strategic development guidelines to boost its high-quality development through advanced manufacturing.

The district is already home to a number of advanced manufacturing companies, including Sichuan EM Technology Co, Sichuan Xingshifa Door and Window Co, and Sichuan TRX Technology Co.

Established in 2014, Sichuan TRX Technology Co is located in the southern area of the Youxian High-Tech Industrial Park and is currently busy with the production of its newly-developed safety-standard recognized ceramic capacitors.

Compared with traditional capacitors, this new product is smaller, more reliable, and more durable, and is widely used in various household appliances. The company's products currently occupy 70 percent of the domestic market share.

In addition to its current 20 production lines, the company will soon launch a second-phase project that includes ten production lines and a new research and development building, said Yang Xue, office director of the company.

Yang said the company's output value is expected to reach 150 million yuan ($23.5 million) this year and it plans to reach an annual output value of 500 million yuan in 2023 and to be listed on the stock market in 2024.

In addition, the first phase of a laser industry base project with a total investment of 3 billion yuan is currently under construction in the northern area of the Youxian High-Tech Industrial Park. It is expected to be completed and begin operating in 2022 with an annual output value of 3 billion yuan.

The laser industry base will be constructed in two phases and feature laser application research and development, laser materials, laser equipment, system assembly, a communication center and supporting facilities. More than ten companies have signed contracts to set up operations in the base, said local officials.

According to its plan, Youxian hopes to build itself into a first-class laser industry base by 2025, achieving an output value of more than 10 billion yuan.

Local officials said the district will optimize and strengthen its three key industries – electronic information, advanced materials, and intelligent equipment – and strive to develop its three emerging industries – nuclear technology applications, laser technology applications, aviation and gas turbines – to form a modern industrial system.
