The grand cornerstone laying ceremony of the Shenzhen-Harbin Financial Technology City project takes place on Oct 9 in Harbin New Area.

A grand cornerstone laying ceremony of the Shenzhen-Harbin Financial Technology City project took place on Oct 9 in the Harbin New Area in Northeast China's Heilongjiang province.

The financial technology city project will cover an area of around 880,000 square meters and a floor space area of about 1.59 million square meters, with investment to reach 20 billion yuan ($2.99 billion).

According to its planning, the project will include a finance center, a technology center, and a business center, focusing on the five industries of financial services, technology services, health industry, headquarters economy, and high-end business.

The project will make use of the advantages of the China (Heilongjiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Harbin New Area, and the Shenzhen-Harbin Cooperation Zone, and will support the revitalization of Northeast China.

With strong corporate strength, a mature operation team, and an improved investment system, the project when completed will become a new engine for the implementation of national strategies and regional economic improvement, and will also be a new model for government-enterprise cooperation and industry-city integration.

Ping An Insurance Group and China Fortune Land Development Co. Ltd. (CFLD) signed a cooperation agreement in September 2018 making CFLD an important strategic enterprise of Ping An Insurance Group; the two companies have now established strategic cooperation in new industrial cities, integrated financial services, and emerging industries.

Since 2019, CFLD has obtained high-quality industry and city integration projects in cities including Wuhan, Hubei province; Beijing; Nanjing, Jiangsu province; Harbin, Heilongjiang province; and Guangzhou, Guangdong province, striving to create a new development pattern that drives forward new industrial cities and commercial real estate.

Aiming to become a new model of city-industry integration in Harbin New Area, the new project will give full play to the industrial advantages of CFLD and the financial advantages of Ping An Insurance Group in a bid to inject strong impetus into in-depth cooperation between Shenzhen and Harbin.
