Ningbo is an ideal place to observe migratory water birds due to its central location along the migration route between East Asia and Australia.

Recently, the coastal city in East China's Zhejiang province welcomed several flocks of migratory birds, including sandpipers, egrets and gulls.

The migration period will last until late autumn.

The birds gather at the mudflats near Hangzhou Bay in Ningbo in search of food. Visitors are encouraged to observe the water fowls at high tides, as the water forces the foraging birds closer to the shore.
