Forum held in Jiaxing to discuss role of young entrepreneurs in boosting YRD

The 2020 Summit Forum of Young Entrepreneurs in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) was held in Jiashan, a county in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, on Sept 8, local media reported.

The forum was attended by representatives of young entrepreneurs from Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and Anhui provinces as well as Shanghai and members of the China Youth Entrepreneurs Association.

Huang Jianfa, member of the standing committee of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, delivered a speech at the forum, saying that young entrepreneurs have broadest vision and most active minds of any group in YRD.

He welcomed them to invest and start businesses in Jiaxing and Zhejiang.

Fu Zhenbang, secretary to the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, said at the forum that young entrepreneurs are the main force in advancing the integrated development of the YRD region.

He expressed hope that they will contribute to the high-quality development of the region and help it become a hub for China's reform and opening-up efforts.

Jiaxing Mayor Zhang Bing briefed the young entrepreneurs on the city's features and economic and social development.

He noted that Jiaxing is stepping up efforts to become a shining example of socialism with Chinese characteristics as well as a city with an innovative economy, happy populace, prosperous culture, and well-preserved environment.

Zhang added that Jiaxing will fully support the construction of the Jiashan zone of eco-friendly integration in YRD.

He hoped that young entrepreneurs will come to Jiaxing and bring more high-quality resources to the city.

Six guests, including Qiu Min, vice-president of Westlake University, and Yang Xiangdong, deputy director of Yangtze Delta Region Research Institute of Tsinghua University in Zhejiang, discussed the mission and responsibility of young entrepreneurs in advancing the integrated development of YRD as well as their role in the innovative development of China's sci-tech industry at the forum.
