An action plan was recently unveiled to promote talent exchange between Ningbo and Zhoushan over the next five years.

According to the plan, the two sides will strengthen cooperation and exchange among high-level industrial professionals and make coordinated efforts to foster talent in fields such as education and healthcare.

Five expert advisory committees funded by the two cities will be set up for key industries such as green petrochemicals, marine biology and electronic information.

Ningbo and Zhoushan shall also make concerted efforts to facilitate the construction of talent exchange platforms as well as several industrial parks in sectors such as petrochemicals, marine biological medicine and aerospace.

By 2025, the two cities plan to cultivate over 1,000 high skilled professionals such as teachers and doctors, and job qualification certificates obtained in either city will be mutually recognized.

The two cities will also explore the establishment of a unified service standard for talent, enabling skilled workers to enjoy the same treatment in both cities.

According to an action plan released by the governments of the two cities in August last year, their integrated development should see substantial progress by 2025.

Specific systems and mechanisms for strengthening integrated development will be put in place, involving things such as infrastructure, science and innovation, environmental protection, and public services, according to the plan.

Zhoushan is an island city located 86.1 kilometers from Ningbo. It takes around 90 minutes by car to travel between the two cities.
