Industry leaders are optimistic about the future development of the electronic information industry in Chengdu, capital of Southwest China's Sichuan province.
"Chengdu's electronic information industry has made significant contributions to both China and the world," said Wang Dongsheng, founder and chairman of BOE Technology Group Co Ltd, while recording a talk show on Sep 3 at Eastern Suburb Memory, a former TV cathode tube factory in Chengdu, which has now been transformed into a cultural park.
The factory, named Hongguang Electronic Tube Factory, was the birthplace of China's first black and white television picture tube.
Wang, as well as representatives from other leading companies like Gree, Tsinghua Unigroup, and Westone Information Industry Inc, discussed the past and future development of Chengdu's electronic information industry.
Wang said Chengdu will serve not only as an industrial base, but also as a talent base for BOE to explore the European market and markets along the route of the Belt and Road Initiative.
