Siming opens movie season with film-themed activities

The opening ceremony of a movie season, a sideline event of the 28th China Golden Rooster & Hundred Flowers Film Festival, was held in Siming district, Xiamen, in East China's Fujian province in early July, local media reported.

The event has been rolled out nine movie-themed activities including an open-air cinema, a film poster exhibition and a film and television works salon.

Some 70 movies, such as The Founding of a Republic and Wolf Warrior II will entertain audiences at open-air cinemas in 10 public places in Siming district from July to September.

A list of the five best shooting locations in Siming was also released at the ceremony, including Gulangyu Island, the area's most popular scenic spot, Lujiang Dao, a key transport hub, and Xitouxia, an original ecological village.
