It is clearly emphasized that people with disabilities have special difficulties and need special attention. On July 25, the State Council Information Office issued a white paper entitled "Equality, Participation and Sharing: 70 Years of Protecting the Rights and Interests of Persons with Disabilities in the PRC", which comprehensively and systematically introduces the efforts of China to promote and protect the rights and dignity of people with disabilities and guarantee their equal participation in economic, social and cultural life over the 70 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China.

In the 70 years of hard work, the living environment of people with disabilities has seen great changes. Guide dogs may travel on planes and trains, and sign language broadcasts of major news programs have become more and more common. Since the reform and opening-up, especially since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the goal of "equality, participation, and sharing" of people with disabilities has been better realized. The overall development level of the cause of people with disabilities has reached new heights, which helps people with disabilities feel a sense of gain, happiness, and security, and showcases the government's care for them.

Poverty alleviation is directly related to people's livelihoods and well-being. People with disabilities is a group that mostly vulnerable in that area. Since the implementation of targeted poverty alleviation and targeted poverty alleviation measures, China has registered more than 6 million rural people with disabilities living in poverty. By the end of last year, the population of people with disabilities in poverty had decreased to about 1.7 million.

Whether people with disabilities can integrate into society and participate in social affairs is related to the level of civilization and justice of society. Li Juan, a rural girl with disability from Daishan County, Anhui province, is lying in bed and biting her stylus to do e-commerce, leading the whole village to get rid of poverty, and academician Jin Zhanpeng of Central South University, who has sat in a wheelchair concentrating on scientific research for more than 20 years, has made significant achievements and is well-known in the international materials science community.

The majority of people with disabilities are hard-working, relying on labor skills to escape poverty and contributing their knowledge and technology. They greatly inspire the spirit of self-reliance throughout society.

China's development cannot be separated from the world’s, and the prosperity of the world also needs China’s contribution. Over the past 70 years, China have been caring for special groups in need, respecting the wishes of people with disabilities, safeguarding their rights, establishing a leadership system with Chinese characteristics, and set them on a development road with Chinese characteristics. A series of measures have made people with disabilities participants, contributors and beneficiaries of economic and social development, and contributed the "China solution" for people with disabilities around the world.

Letting people with disabilities live in peace and contentment is an important manifestation of the Party's purpose of serving the people wholeheartedly and is an inevitable requirement of China's socialist system. There are 85 million people with disabilities in China, and people with disabilities are still one of the most difficult and needy social groups. In the future, we should remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind. We will forge ahead hand in hand with people with disabilities so that together we can discover the brilliance and charm of life in the new era.
