Shanghai’s remarkable IP achievements in 2018

The General Office of Shanghai Intellectual Property Joint Committee and Foreign Affairs Office of Shanghai held the 2019 Shanghai intellectual property work briefing, a part of the 2019 Shanghai intellectual property publicity week on April 25.

Yang Hui, Party member of Shanghai’s intellectual property administration introduced the latest progress of intellectual property work in Shanghai in 2018 at the briefing.

According to Yang, Shanghai achieved remarkable achievement in three fields. Firstly, the level of intellectual property management in Shanghai has been significantly improved. Administration system of intellectual property has been reconstructed and relevant policies have been improved. Secondly, Shanghai kept strengthening intellectual property rights (IPR) protection, especially judicial protection. Thirdly, the intellectual property supporting system kept improving and international cooperation achieved fruitful results.

Nearly 100 people from member units of the General Office of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Joint Committee, foreign consulates general in Shanghai, foreign chambers of commerce and overseas funded enterprises attended the briefing.

Deputies from the British consulate general, the Canadian consulate general, the Panamanian consulate general, and the American chamber of commerce in Shanghai put forward questions seeking on-site solutions from the municipal intellectual property administration.
