Shaanxi gears up for preparation of Silk Road expo
As the Fourth Silk Road International Exposition is around the corner, preparations are progressing smoothly and the expo’s Executive Committee has already started centralized work, serving Chinese and foreign merchants around the clock.
The expo is scheduled to be held from May 11 to 15 in Xi'an, capital city of Shaanxi province in northwest China.
To date, the province has issued invitation letters to 256 central authorities, national ministries, provincial and municipal governments, and central enterprises. More than 10 national ministries and commissions have confirmed the attendance of their leaders, as did more than 10 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities such as Jilin, Chongqing, and Xinjiang.
Russia and Cambodia have been confirmed as the guest countries of honor with high-level delegations set to show up at the event.
In addition, more than 20 countries including Kazakhstan, Colombia, Sri Lanka, Japan, Peru, South Korea, Tunisia, and Italy have also confirmed that they will send delegations led by ministerial-level officials.
The leading bodies of the Silk Expo have been set up in 13 Shaanxi cities and their districts to further promote the preparatory work for the expo.
