Bruce Connolly: Why I feel closest to China in its smaller towns and cities

Bruce Connolly, a Briton and a special contributor, came to China in 1987 and has travelled to most of China's provinces and municipalities. Since 2004, he has hosted the column "Bruce in Beijing" on Radio Beijing, introducing the local conditions and customs of Beijing to foreigners living in the city. He also writes a cultural column for China Daily. Recently he launched the "Bruce in China" series on BBC Scottish TV. His photographs have also been exhibited in Beijing, Tianjin, Chongqing and many other places in China.
