Lecture: Nanomaterials for heterogeneous catalysis towards sustainable environment

Abstract:

In recent years, people are seeking for green energy and better environment, which requires novel materials and technologies. Nannodiamond and metal-based quantum dots are receiving wide interests for catalytic reactions. In this seminar, I will present our latest research in using carbon and metal-based quantum dots for catalytic oxidation of toxic organics for water treatment and solar light photocatalytic water splitting to generate hydrogen and oxygen.

Introduction:

Prof. Shaobin Wang obtained Ph.D. from the University of Queensland (Australia). He is now a John Curtin Distinguished Professor at Department of Chemical Engineering of Curtin University. His research interests focus on synthesis and application of nanomaterials for carbon dioxide utilization, energy conversion, and environmental remediation. He has published over 300 refereed journal papers with over 16,000 citations and an H-index of 77 and served as an editorial board member for several international journals. Prof. Wang is an Elsevier/Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researcher in the areas of Environmental Science and Technology/Engineering.
