Zhongxian county brings audiences to the ancient time
A large-scale landscape performance entitled "Flames of the Three Kingdoms" was held on the evening of Sept 13 in Chongqing's Zhongxian county, transporting audiences to the Three Kingdoms era with its extraordinary visual effects.
The stage performance uses the three Gorges of the Yangtze River as its backdrop to tell the story of Guan Yu, a famous General during the Three Kingdoms period.
The performance includes classic scenes from the Three Kingdoms period and not only includes singing and dancing, but also war and bloodshed to demonstrate Guan Yu's undying loyalty.
Making the performance even more impressive were the 35,000 square meters stage which was surrounded by water on all sides, a large 3D holographic water curtain projection, 180-degree omnidirectional circular rotating spectator seats, and an acoustic and photoelectric stereoscopic effect, a perfect combination of strong story-telling and special effects.
"The performance has magnificent stage effects which are very impressive," said an audience member. He also suggested that the performance add some interactive elements to better include the audience.
