Jiashan Industry City

Updated: 2018-07-16 13:45

Jiashan County in Zhejiang province is located at the crossroads of Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou and Ningbo, a geographical pivot position in the Yangtze River Delta city cluster. A bridgehead linking Zhejiang with Shanghai, it has been dubbed the "Land of fish and rice" and is the only demonstration county for scientific development in China.

Jiashan New Industry City is situated in the south of the county and has a convenient transportation network. It is adjacent to the Jiashan High-speed Railway South Station, and is just a train ride to the Shanghai Hongqiao Transportation Hub.

In April 2013, the government of Jiashan County signed a cooperation agreement with China Fortune Land Development Co, an industrial zone developer.

The cooperation adopts a Public-Private Partnership model and consists of a number of programs, covering planning & design, land arrangement, urban infrastructure, public construction, industry development and urban management.

Experts from global consulting firms and planners such as McKinsey, AECOM and Regal Lloyds have tailored plans for New Industry City's development. It is designed to be a global innovation city and a charming water town-themed tourist destination with a planned population of 120,000, including 40,000 employees in local industries. The experts also set its three-year goals, five-year goals and 10-year goals.

China Fortune Land Development is committed to building the city with a beautiful ecological environment, rich cultural atmosphere, developed supporting facilities and a highly-concentrated innovative industrial system as well as abundant tourism resources, and hopes to integrate it into Shanghai, forming a model of new-type urbanization that can be replicated in other places.

Technical research and development, software information, movie and TV media, and business services are four fields that the Jiashan New Industry City plans to incubate. More and more talents, scientific achievers and industrial programs will be attracted to settle there and help develop it into a city of creativity with all kinds of innovative and entrepreneurial resources.

New Industry City will try to keep up with Shanghai in offering tailored facilities and services for professionals, including transportation networks, high-quality education and medical services to continue to be livable and friendly for residents and investors.

A slow traffic system will be launched in its water towns and the Yunhu Lake, Wuzi Pool, Youche Port, Baishui Pool and the New Xitang Cultural Landscape will string the green spaces in the area together to form an ecologically friendly environment to which leisure and entertainment facilities will be added.

Meanwhile, it will plan a route for running enthusiasts and offer water-land public transportation service as well.

In addition, all kinds of cultural programs and festivals will be organized to improve the livelihoods of local people and promote an all-region tourism brand.
