April's warming weather brings in peak visitors to visit the peaks and valleys of Kongdong Mountain scenic area, in Pingliang city, Gansu province.

Kongdong Mountain is considered one of the birthplaces of Chinese martial arts culture. Along with Shaolin, Wudang, Emei and Kunlun, Kongdong Mountain can trace the origins of one of the five original Chinese martial arts styles and schools, and in 2014, the Kongdong district won the title of national "homeland of martial art".

The mountain acts as a fortress in the Silk Road, an ancient trade road stretching from North China to West Asia and Europe, with its main peak stretching as high as 2,123 meters above sea level.

The Kongdong Mountain scenic area was awarded the 5A-level scenic spot by the National Tourism Administration in 2007.
