Wuxi New District’s tourism agriculture is developing rapidly.

Nearly 400,000 people traveled to Hongshan from January to August 2014, an increase of 300 percent over the same period. Hongshan National Archeological Park and Lianghong Wetland Park, both located in Wuxi New District, have passed the national evaluation.

Through the integration of characteristic culture, the protection of ecological wetland and Wuyue cultural tourism, people’s desire to return to nature, embrace nostalgia and relax can be met, which can lead to the upgrade of urban tourism agriculture in Wuxi New District, according to Li Jianqiu, deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee of Wuxi New District.

Based on Hongshan Ecological Garden, the new district promotes the application and declaration of the provincial modern agricultural garden. Hongshan ecological agricultural demonstration park was approved as Jiangsu Provincial Modern Agricultural Garden in the first half year. On this basis, the new district promotes the construction of Lianghong Modern Agricultural Garden into a national modern agricultural garden.

Through investment attraction for high-quality agricultural projects, the construction of a good service environment, wide publicity of travel in Wuxi, and the combination of rich tourism cultural and agricultural resources, new district tourism agriculture has enjoyed great development.

Excellent agricultural enterprises are key to the agricultural development of Wuxi New District, such as Yafu Agricultural Science and Technology and Honyum in Wuxi.

With more focus on the ecology, culture and leisure function of agriculture, Wuxi New District should promote the development of intelligent agriculture and demonstration agriculture and promote the featured upgrades of modern urban tourism agriculture.
