POWERCHINA launches English website

The POWERCHINA Construction Corporation of China (POWERCHINA) had a launch ceremony for its English website at company headquarters, in Beijing, on July 30.

In his opening speech, Huang emphasized the importance of business overseas for the POWERCHINA portfolio and pointed to the new English website as a real step towards the company goal of becoming a global leader. The website, he added, will enhance the quality of its information services, strengthen the brand image and influence abroad, greatly facilitate POWERCHINA’s international business. The website opened simultaneously worldwide to present the most up-to-date company information and showcase the company with a multifaceted perspective. It will no doubt have a positive influence on business development overseas.

Zhou Jiayi, vice president of Overseas Business Unit, followed with a presentation of the content, structure, and development of the English website, explaining that it displayed the company’s products, services, and R&D developments, while providing the latest news and social activities it has undertaken. Its ultimate goal is to show a large, environmentally friendly enterprise that is always in the pursuit of excellence.

POWERCHINA was established two years ago through a merger of a number of power companies, with a strategy of giving priority to international business, and, as a result its overseas business has expanded rapidly and is becoming an important part of the business portfolio. It has also increased POWERCHINA’s social and market influence, making it an SOE with extensive international operations and growing business. This makes POWERCHINA a very competitive representative of its industry, unique in its functions, and unparalleled in services and products. With that in mind, constructing an impressive English website was becoming a must.

China Daily, established in 1981, is the only national English-language newspaper in China. China Daily is regarded as one of the country's most authoritative English media outlets. China Daily Website (chinadaily.com.cn), launched in 1995, is China’s most influential English-language Web portal. It has constructed about 200 websites for local governments and enterprises.

This new website has considerably broadened the reach of POWERCHINA overseas and will play a key role in increasing contacts with clients everywhere, cooperating through communication, and delivering top-quality services.

The attendants also include directors of the corporate affairs department, party affairs department, overseas business unit, information center, electrical & engineering unit, survey & design unit, equipment manufacturing unit, and real estate unit.
