Fu'an, the Fujian province city famous for its tea, will be getting a "Taiwan Tea Street", making it an important platform for cooperation and exchange across the strait.

The "China Strait Tea City" will get a total investment of 35 billion yuan from the Fujian government, with an area of 250,000 m² containing close to 1,000 tea shops.

Due to the increase of tea merchants in Taiwan and Fujian, Fujian decided to build the "China Strait Tea City" and create a large market for Taiwan tea merchants in east Fujian through facilitation and preferential policies.

Many Taiwan tea merchants and enterprises have shown great interest in the tea street so far. "'China Strait Tea City'" is a necessary strategic place for Taiwan tea to enlarge its market and increase sales in the Mainland," said a Taiwan tea merchant surnamed Lin, who hopes to enter the market.

East Fujian is a large tea production area in China, with the annual production volume of tea produced in the area equaling Taiwan's annual tea volume. The tea street will promote the exchange of the tea industry between Taiwan and Fujian and bring faster development to the tea industry across the strait, according to Lin.

Fu'an is the biggest tea industry city in China and even Southeast Asia, which developed from an integration of the tea trade, network marketing, tea culture promotion, sightseeing tours, scientific research and training.

The tea city has allocated high quality shops for Taiwan tea merchants, said the head of the "China Strait Tea City". In order to make Taiwan tea more recognizable and bought by more people, the "Taiwan Tea Street" will be developed as a tourist place for Taiwanese compatriots, characterized by culture tourism, entertainment and a shopping market, the city head added.
