Located in the middle section of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project, the zone has strengthened water resources management. By de-sludging 400,000 cubic meters, closing draining outlets and five unqualified enterprises, upgrading two enterprises, and cultivating several aquatic plants, the zone has set up a wetland park covering an area of 83 mu (55,333 square meters). In addition, by investing more than 30 million yuan in building a new network of drains, the zone has improved the sewage treatment system.

By building more green belts and botanical gardens, improving the rural environment and popularizing environmental protection knowledge, the zone has increased the greening rate and has promoted ecological development.
