Wudang strengthens environmental protection

To create a beautiful tourist environment and strengthen resource management, the Wudang Tourism Economic Zone of Shiyan, Hubei province, has made great efforts in environmental protection.

With a focus on afforestation, Wudang's ecological environment has improved a lot. To date, Wudang has built a botanical garden of 100,000 square meters, a 131 mu (8.73 hectares) wetland park and a 160 hectare landscape forest area featuring water plants of over 2,000 hectares. The greening rate and forest coverage rate have reached 85.5 percent and 84.4 percent, respectively.

In addition, Wudang strengthens infrastructure construction and service improvement. Wudang Hotel's comfortable environment and high-quality service have won praise from tourists at home and abroad. The Wudang Wine Expo Park combines wine culture, Wudang culture and healthcare culture with folk culture, displaying the wine history of Wudang. It is now putting forth efforts to become a national 4A-level scenic spot.
