The Wudang Mountains of Shiyan, Hubei province, received a total of 13.13 million tourists from October to November, generating tourism revenue of 567 million yuan ($91.55), a growth of 7 percent and 7.83 percent, respectively, despite the issue of the central government's ban that prohibits government officials from holding meetings in tourist attractions.

Wudang is one of the 21 prohibited scenic spots for government meetings. However, Wudang has put great effort into tourism promotion by reducing hotel prices, hosting more health lectures and transforming the parking lots into areas to practice tai chi. During the past two months, the number of individual tourists and self-driving visitors saw a 32 percent increase.
