Wudang to start third Meeting of Kung Fu Performance

The third Meeting of Kung Fu Performance in Wudang will kick off in Danjiangkou city, Hubei province, on Oct 17.

The five-day event will feature wushu (martial arts) performances, a summit on Yang style tai chi, a forum on health and a kung fu contest. The contest will attract 2,100 top martial artists from 16 countries and regions, such as Wu Bin, a wushu master who was the teacher of kung fu stars Jet Li and Wu Jing; Fu Shengyuan, an inheritor of Yang style tai chi; and Zhang Shaolin, a master in fohan quan, a kind of boxing originated from Songshan Shaolin Temple.

Now in its third year, the meeting has boosted the growth of Chinese traditional martial arts and promoted the popularity of both Danjiangkou city and the Wudang Mountains.
